Project Overview:

For this project, I worked on a team with two developers. I met with the head of product to discuss the current interface, technical capabilities of the platform, and goals for the project. He gave me some background information on the platform and emphasized the importance of engagement to its success. The objective for this design sprint was to examine the platform from many user's perspectives. Then to apply insights from our findings to a redesign the interface in a holistic way.

Research & Development

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Journey Map:

To create a visualization of the process that the analyst and end user go through in order to accomplish the processing of tickets in the  system.

User Interviews:

These interviews were performed as part
of an ideation phase during early concept development.

The user interviews followed structured methodology, whereby I prepared several topics related to creating a new system.

Then I systematically analyzed the conversations after the interviews, as part
of the method of discovering how to implement a new UI.

User Flow

The user flows took the user from their entry point through a set of steps towards a successful outcome. The flow solves whether a ticket could be approved or not approved. In the final phase it would be sent back to the stockbroker with the final decision.

User Persona:

After interviewing the users, I created a few different fictional characters based upon the user research. I gathered a clear understanding of their needs, experiences, and behaviors.

Task Flow

This Task Flow was created to have a single flow completed by all users for approving or not approving a transaction through our banking system.

Information Architecture

The main task within this IA was to research, navigate, create data modeling and labeling of the entirety of the system flow. It was a visual representation of our product's infrastructure, features, and hierarchy.

Original Design

The main task was going through each part of the design and finding out what needed to be improved. What could stay and what changes needed to be implemented in order to create a new UI.

Prototypes

These Prototypes were the final piece in creating the new UI. These designs were created to be responsive from the landing page to the dashboard view. Certain aspects of the features will change according to the user's permissions.

The final screen gives the user the ability to reject or accept the transfer/ticket process. As a result the information with automatically be sent to the stockbroker with an updated status via email
